Financial Therapy (Coaching)
for Individuals
Money was meant to be a tool for living the life we want, but for many of us, it becomes the goal in life, and we get swayed by financial situations. We often ignore how our mind and body feel about money because being stressed out about it has become “the norm” — but it shouldn’t be.
Jooyoung offers financial therapy sessions in person and virtually no matter where you are in the world!
So… what is financial therapy?
What is Financial Therapy?
Financial therapy (or coaching) is a form of psychotherapy where a therapist helps clients address the emotional aspects of money and financial challenges in their lives. This is a relatively new therapeutic domain, typically offered by licensed mental health professionals (and, in some cases, certified or state-licensed financial professionals) as part of their expertise.
Mental health providers, especially those with higher education in counseling or psychotherapy, often have experience with trauma from childhood, relational difficulties, career issues, and more. However, it’s less common for providers to focus specifically on the financial factors that affect a client’s well-being. This process examines how money-related stressors intersect with emotional health, helping individuals understand and navigate their relationship with finances.. This process examines
Unhelpful views toward money
Monetary decisions
Financial stress and trauma
Spending habits
And more
In financial therapy, the clients can dissect their relationship with money and emotional difficulties that to distress and unhealthy behaviors. The client can expect to work on
Understanding money narratives whether external or internal
Redefining relationships with money
Establishing tangible and realistic financial goals
Developing money coping skills to empower the clients, not inhibit
And more
