Financial Therapy (Coaching)

for Individuals

Money was supposed to be a means of living the life we wanted to live. But, a lot of us feel money became THE goal in life and they get swayed by money situations. We often ignore how our mind and body feel around money because being stressed out about money is “the norm” (no, it’s not).

Jooyoung offers financial therapy sessions in person and virtually no matter where you are in the world!

So… what is financial therapy?

What is Financial Therapy?

Financial therapy (coaching) is a psychotherapy practice where a therapist helps the clients focus on the emotional aspect of money/financial issues in life. This is a relatively new therapeutic domain that a licensed professional mental health providers (and maybe some board certified or state licensed financial professionals) can provide as a part of their expertise. Mental health providers that received higher education in the counseling/psychotherapy field have experiences or exposure to the work related to trauma from upbringing/childhood, relational difficulties, career issues, and more. However, it is not a common phenomenon that providers focus on the financial aspects that affect the clients’ well-being. This process examines

  • Unhelpful views toward money

  • Monetary decisions

  • Financial stress and trauma

  • Spending habits

  • And more

In financial therapy, the clients can dissect their relationship with money and emotional difficulties that to distress and unhealthy behaviors. The client can expect to work on

  • Understanding money narratives whether external or internal

  • Redefining relationships with money

  • Establishing tangible and realistic financial goals

  • Developing money coping skills to empower the clients, not inhibit

  • And more
